Solar Farm will Provide Additional Electricity For Taveuni

More than 500 people will access additional power with the construction of 2880 solar panels, at the Mua Solar Farm Project in Taveuni.

Project designer Avinesh Sen said the solar panels would be connected to the Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) grid on the island to provide energy to every home.

The project was initiated in 2019 is sponsored by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in collaboration with the Fiji Government through the EFL.

EFL Taveuni team leader generation, Krishneel Naicker said after the successful commissioning, the solar panel would add additional electricity to the EFL grid.

“Providing additional electricity will mean expansion in our community outreach,” Mr Naicker said.

“We can expect more Fijians on the island to benefit from it.”
