When the voice of the poor calls, they willingly leave their prayers, knowing that they are leaving it for God.
This was highlighted by Father Josefa Tuimavule during the thanksgiving for the opening of St Vincent Home at Brown Street in Suva yesterday.
Father Tuimavula said the home was an initiative by the charity from the Saint Vincent de Paul national council team and the church members with an aim to provide shelter for the poor and the homeless.

“We should seek to honour, love and serve the truly human God by honouring, loving and serving the poor, the abandoned, the victims of exclusion and adversity,” he said.
He was thankful to those who contributed to the initiative.
He said the COVID-19 era would always be remembered because it had affected many.
“There has been a great loss of jobs, stress in families, rise to drug abuse, increase in sex workers and increase of people living on the streets,” Father Tuimavula said.
