State Of Roads In Tacirua Shock

Roads in Tacirua East are in a very deplorable state and residents are hoping that the conditions are improved.
Big potholes and bits of the road have been washed off exposing the gravel and showing how much tar was used to seal the road.
Satish Singh, a resident said he moved into his home in 2016 and claimed that there had been no upgrade on the roads.

“It has been almost five years since we have moved into the area and no upgrade work was undertaken after the initial construction,” he said.
Alumita Qalovaki said she damaged her vehicle during the heavy rain a few weeks ago.
“It is hard to see the potholes and the washed off road when it is raining,” she said.
“My car fell into one of these holes and I had spent almost $1000 in repairing it.”
Housing Authority chief executive Robert Sen said after the lots were developed for the area, the roads were handed over to the Fiji Roads Authority.’
He said this had always been the practice.
Fiji Roads Authority’s communication department has been sent questions regarding repair works.
