Health advisory issued
The Ministry of Health has also issued a public health advisory last night warning of risks associated with heavy rain and flooding, including waterborne diseases.
Key health precautions include:
■ Safe drinking water: Store drinking water in clean, covered containers and boil untreated water to prevent diseases such as cholera and dysentery.
■ Sufficient water supply: Households should stock up on enough water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene purposes.
■ Avoid flooded areas: The public is urged to stay away from flooded roads, rivers, and creeks, which may be contaminated with sewage, chemicals, and debris.
Meanwhile, Fijians are advised to remain cautious, monitor weather updates, and follow official advisories as Fiji continues to experience the effects of TC Rae.
