Staff nurse Fazila Bi Koya, 28, is among the many hard working frontliners in the country.
The Nadi-based nurse has been deployed to various centres since the second COVID-19 wave hit Fiji this year and has yet to return home.
She was deployed to the medical team based in Lautoka when it was announced as a containment zone of its own.

Last week she joined her team in the Suva area to assist in their work schedule.
Ms Koya believes an effective response in implementing plans and strategies can help Fijians in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and provide high quality care to the public.
“Every day is challenging because we come across different situations during contact tracing, but as public health professionals, we ensure that patient care is met so he/she does not face difficulties during the isolation phase,” she said.
“It’s been a while I am away from home, thinking of my mother, grandmother who always advised me on the precautionary measures to take during this pandemic.”
She also thinks of her colleagues and prays for their safety and wellbeing.
“My message to the public is to be safe and responsible. We stay at work for you, please stay at home for us,” she said.
“Together we can make a change and help fight this pandemic.”
Ms Koya was inspired by her mother, Amina Bi to become a nurse.
“I just waved goodbye to her at the Momi checkpoint as she departed for Suva,” Ms Koya said.
“Our prayers are with her and all the frontliners because we notice the number continue to rise.”
Ms Koya graduated from the Fiji School of Nursing in 2013 and has been serving at the Ministry of Health since 2014.
“This is my eighth year in nursing I have worked in Lautoka and Nadi hospitals during the first three years of my service,” she said.
In 2017 she joined the public health services.
