Despite the negative publicity against dismissed Cabinet Minister Lynda Tabuya, new Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran is adamant to stay focused and continue with its mandated role.

Ms Kiran was sworn-in on Friday following the dismissal of Ms Tabuya after a leaked nude video on social media.

Ms Kiran, while acknowledging the flaw, admitted the ministry needed to continue serving the people even amidst drawbacks involving Ms Tabuya.

“There is trust, I think where we’re concerned is that ensuring that get the work done,” Ms Kiran said.

“The ministry is focused on serving our mandate, ensuring the most vulnerable are taken care of. I seek the support of all Fijians as I now take on the baton.”

Ms Kiran is not new to such a role as she was the Assistant Minister in the ministry since the start of the Coalition Government.
