Storm Surge, High Risk For Disaster Displacement, Says Expert Body

Storm surge is the largest and highest risk causing disaster  displacements in Fiji, the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre has said. Between 2010 and 2021, a total of 190,524 disaster displacements had taken place around the country.

Storm surge is the largest and highest risk causing disaster  displacements in Fiji, the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre has said.

Between 2010 and 2021, a total of 190,524 disaster displacements had taken place around the country.

IMDC has projected about 5,800 people on average would likely be displaced by sudden-onset hazards in any given year in the country.
