Stranded in Galoa

Heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours around the country saw many low-lying areas inundated with flash flooding, leaving many families and travellers stranded.

This was the scene past Galoa bridge in Serua yesterday.

The weather office in Nadi has issued a flash flood warning for flood prone areas, small stream and low-lying areaso f the central-easternd ivision, from Navua to Qauia, Rewa and Korovou River, Labasa and Qawa river: Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Northern Division and eastern parts of Viti Levu.

More showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely to take place over southern Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

This is likely to continue tomorrow,the weather office in Nadi has forecast.
