Students Celebrates Fiji Day

Assemblies of God Primary School was full of Fiji Day activities on Friday, as teachers and students celebrated Fiji’s 53rd Independence Day.

The Fiji Day celebrations were made more special with students showing up to school in various cultural attires, reflecting Fiji’s rich cultural diversity.

A school assembly was also organised to raise awareness and to show gratitude to the teachers, students and to cel­ebrate the achievements of Fiji.

Assistant head teacher Mosese Turagabeci said the ser­vices of teachers and their contributions to Fiji’s education were acknowledged.

Mr Turagabeci said teachers played an important role in developing students who would become leaders in the fu­ture.

“To show appreciation to the students and teachers, the school sponsored two cakes per form to assist students in organising their respective form parties.” Mr Turagabeci said.

Students and teachers performed meke and other cultural entertainments.
