Students, Teachers Join SCC For Cleanup Drive

Students and teachers of Suva Muslim College (SMC) together with Suva City Council personnel organised a cleanup campaign which was held on August 13.
The objective of the campaign was to raise awareness among students and teachers on ways to improve their community with small acts of kindness.
A total of 30 student council members, five teachers together with the college principal, Shiraaz Ali, took part in the campaign.

Teacher in-charge, Shivanjini Rahiman, said the cleanup campaign was an excellent method to educate students about their actions towards the community.
“This initiative was from the student Council 2022 to create awareness among students and teachers,” she said.
“They collected rubbish around the school compound, filled soil in pot plants, cleaned gardens and potted plants,” she said.
The theme for the campaign was teamwork multiplies success.
Ms Rahiman acknowledged the college principal for allowing the opportunity to create awareness and the Suva City Council for its contribution towards the cleanup drive.
