The Lautoka Ratepayers Association president, Narayan Reddy, said it is overwhelming to see that some roads in the area have finally been upgraded.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) recently upgraded a number of roads in the town area, in Lovu going towards Vitogo and some other residential areas.

Mr Reddy said that ratepayers were extremely happy with the recent projects carried out by the FRA in the Sugar City.

“We request the FRA to continue doing this so that the roads are kept in good condition.”

Lovu residents from Tore Settlement, Shabana Nisha, 39 and Rehil Khan, 59 told the Fiji Sun that finally, after a number of years, the road in the area had been upgraded.

Ms Khan, who has been residing in Lovu for the past 27 years, said the road conditions were much better now compared to before.

“The road was in a very bad condition before, there were a lot of potholes and it would spoil the vehicles that came through,” she said.

Ms Nisha said she was grateful to the Government and especially to the FRA for getting the roads in their area fixed.
