This anniversary celebration is not complete if we do not pay tribute to our pioneers and forebearers, especially the late visionary Sundip Patel, who established the Fiji Sun and laid all the foundations for today’s success.
The Late Sundip Patel, Our Visionary Founder.
Mr Patel believed in the important role of the news media to inform, educate and entertain. He believed in the importance of Fiji having a locally owned daily newspaper. His legacy lives on in the way the newspaper has grown.
During this COVID-19 crisis the newspaper had to readjust, like other media organisations. But it has never lost sight of its core role to keep the people informed of the events that affect their daily lives. It’s a tribute to the staff who, despite the challenges and hardships they face, continue to fulfill their responsibility to put out the paper daily and get it delivered to the people every morning.
The people who work here are the main asset of the newspaper.
We wish everyone a happy anniversary and a better future where the Fiji Sun shines even brighter.
