“The two forums were very successful, the main objectives were achieved, where we created dialogue and provided a platform to hold talks with key people who help drive our business at the Water Authority of Fiji,” said WAF Board director, Kamal Gounder.
Members of the WAF Board of directors were available at both sessions to answer questions from the participants.
During the first session, the authority’s procurement manager, Lewis Boulton, updated suppliers on the latest processes in place at WAF.
In the second session, with plant hire contractors, WAF’s chief financial officer, Michael Joseph Lal, said the purpose of the forum was to strengthen a good working relationship with the contractors.
“The forum provided contractors with a better understanding of the plant hire process and gave them the opportunity to discuss the key terms and conditions of agreements. It also helped create awareness on WAF’s gift and entertainment policy, as well as the Authority’s whistle blower policy,” said Mr Lal.
Similar forums with suppliers and plant hire contractors will be held in the Western and Northern divisions in the coming months.
