Support For Men, Women In Workplaces Crucial, Says Soro

VOU Dance Fiji director, Sachiko Soro, has shared key messages on the equality of men and women in the home and workplace.
This was during the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) International Women’s Day 2023 celebration in Namaka.
“My key message this Women’s Day is that we need to support men in the home in order to support women in the workplace,” she said.

She added that a lot of women failed to find financial freedom or security because of the gendered roles of having to stay home and look after the children in the house.
“If we want to really offer women equality in the workplace, we need to erase the stigma of men helping out in the home with childcare and cooking and cleaning,” she said.
“If we really need to see women as equals in the workplace we need help at home,” she said.
