Mr Tikoduadua said, Nubukalou Creek remains an iconic spot for the capital city.
“We are looking at the future. This means, we want the Nubukalou Creek to be somewhat of a mini Venice for us,” he said.
“For that to happen, work would include dredging, studies of the area, construction designs which reflect what we want, define the challenges and put a cost on the work.”
According to Mr Tikoduadua, once the plans and costing are finalised, they would be in discussion with businesses operating next to the creek to share costs and present their views on final designs.
Mr Tikoduadua also confirmed that plans for the refurbishment of Ratu Sukuna Park had been approved.
Mr Tikoduadua said the council would be unveiling the plans next week.
He said as a growing city, Suva’s designs for capital works would happen with future development in sight.
