A swift response by the National Fire Authority (NFA) contained a possible huge industrial fire in Lautoka yesterday.
The fire started before midday at the Namoli Industrial area and involved a property believed to be owned by Popular Furniture.
Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to nearby businesses in the busy industrial hub.

The NFA confirmed crews were dispatched immediately, with additional support requested from Nadi to strengthen operations.
Two fire trucks from Nadi were deployed, underscoring the scale of the response.
The authority said officers brought the situation under control quickly, reducing the risk of further damage to surrounding properties.
The full extent of damage has yet to be confirmed.
However, early containment efforts are being credited with pre-venting wider losses.
When approached yesterday, the property owner declined to comment but indicated a statement would be issued today.
The incident highlights the importance of rapid emergency response and fire safety compliance in densely occupied industrial areas.
