Women from multicultural backgrounds celebrated Holi at the Labasa Multicultural Centre on Wednesday.

Centre Administrator Prabha Naicker said they had planned to celebrate Holi in a multicultural way.

Ms Naicker said there was a need to organise the celebrations and invite everyone so that they could learn each other's culture.

“The aim of this function is to create multiculturalism between different cultures, thus bridging the gaps and forwarding friendships,” she said.

“This helps in our understanding of each other’s cultures, become good friends and live among each other peacefully.”

Women from Tabia, who also shared the joy of their celebration, said it was the first time to celebrate Holi with other women.

Holi is a time to celebrate colours, and life with love from the heart.
