SODELPA national candidate Lynda Tabuya has stood by party leader Sitiveni Rabuka and defended him against criticisms from party dissidents.

In a Facebook post, Ms Tabuya said: “It is just a few individuals who have disagreed with the party’s decision to bring the People’s Democratic Party into SODELPA, who all were present at the AGM when it was presented to the deciding body, the management board, who then unanimously approved. Furthermore, these individuals have chosen to go to the Fijian Elections Office, the media and Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption instead of just dealing with their grievances internally.

“The party leader is doing all he can to listen and to reconcile all concerned. I trust in his ability to achieve this.”

Ms Tabuya also thanked supporters who attended her fundraising dinner last Saturday.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported my first fundraising dinner in the race to the 2018 General Election.

“As a National candidate of SODELPA, I can assure you that SODELPA is united behind the party leader Sitiveni Rabuka to contest the elections.”
