Meanwhile, distance is no leadership barrier for Medeline Hiran from Nauru. She was inducted as Hostel Head Girl.
Hiran moved here when she was 12 years old. Being inducted yesterday as Hostel Head Girl for the school, was a big achievement for the humble leader.
While her family is in Nauru, Hiran is studying here under the care of the Nauru High Commission.
She said: “The role will be challenging and I will have to stand firm as a leader for all the girls in the hostel.
But I am also glad that I know the local language so communication will not be a problem.”
She is determined to become a great leader for her country one day.
She also believes a leader is someone who comes down to the same level as others and leads everyone together.
