Consistency in getting quality marks in every exam proved pivotal for Tanisha Kumar, after scoring one of the highest marks in the Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination (FY13CE) in the Northern Division.
The Labasa College student scored 384 marks out of 400, to cap off a perfect year where she became school dux and now external exam topper.
Tanisha said consistency of ensuring that quality marks became a norm was possible through her after-school revision with help from teachers.

““There was a huge smile on my face when I accessed the marks in the morning,” she said.
Tanisha thanked her parents and teachers for supporting her.
She plans to pursue Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in Suva.
“Since primary school, I always wanted to become a doctor.”
School’s Competitive Nature
She supported the toughness of the exams prepared by the teachers, which is part of how Labasa College prepares its students for exams.
“They bring out papers from different schools and prepare tough exams, so we become accustomed and find the externals easier,” she said.
Last year, she scored 382/400 in her Year 12 external exam.
