George Taoba, deputy head boy of Marist Brothers High School, is ready to bring his best to the leadership table at the all-boys institution.

What was once just a dream in the back of his mind became a reality when he was inducted as deputy head boy.

George, who was a student leader at St. Marcellin Primary School, credits his early leadership experiences for shaping his character.

George acknowledged that there is still much work to be done at the school, particularly in improving academic excellence a goal that student leaders have collectively agreed upon.

“Being named deputy head boy is about more than just wearing a badge; it comes with significant responsibilities, especially as I strive to balance both schoolwork and leadership,” George said.

“I believe this role carries a greater calling, one that will help me discover new potential in areas where I can make a difference.

“There are many students with the potential to lead, and I’m truly grateful for the trust and confidence that the students and teachers have placed in me,” he added.

George emphasised the importance of being centered in Christ, saying, “I believe that with Christ at the center, the school can navigate its path to success.”

He reminded his fellow students that with God, anything is possible.
