Taveuni Killer Accused Remanded

A 21-year-old man, who allegedly murdered a 58-year-old man on Taveuni Island, was remanded by the Taveuni Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

A 21-year-old man, who allegedly murdered a 58-year-old man on Taveuni Island, was remanded by the Taveuni Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Petero Ulilakeba of Savusavu appeared before Magistrate Amelia Vavadakua and is charged with one count of murder and one count of criminal intimidation.

It is alleged that on April 5, the accused killed Veremo Raogo on his property in Tavuki Village.

The victim was found dead with multiple cuts by his daughter.

The case has been adjourned to May 14 at the High Court in Labasa.
