Tavua Road Accident Claims Driver's Life, Passengers Survive

“Ratu Meli Nasalasala was a caring man, he was familiar with the vanua and the church. People of Rabulu did not dream this accident would happen. It hurt me when I saw him; he was a person who always took good care of his maternal relatives,” he said.

A road accident which occurred in Togovere in Tavua along the Kings Road around 1am yesterday claimed the life of one man.

Survivor Josefa Vidiri claims he was wearing a seat belt which was what saved his life.

The accident claimed the life of Mr Vidiri’s cousin, Ratu Meli Nasalasala who was driving the gas taxi. Mr Vidiri was a passenger in the vehicle.

Thirty-seven-year-old Ratu Meli died after the vehicle he was driving veered off the road.
