Twelve agonising days have passed since 29-year-old Arvin Chand disappeared, leaving his family in heartbreak and despair.
For Arvin's parents, what should have been a joyful Diwali turned into a nightmare. Arvin, a bus driver by profession, had been driving a taxi as a favour to a close friend when he left home on November 2.
That morning, he told his mother he was going to work-but he didn't say goodbye. It was the last time his family would see him.

Days later, on November 4, Arvin's taxi was found abandoned near the Suva Flea Market at 3pm.
The doors were ajar, the keys left on the seat, yet Arvin was nowhere to be found.
Police launched an investigation, but so far, the search has yielded no results, leaving his family torn between hope and fear.
Satya Chand, Arvin’s father, described his anguish: “I haven’t slept properly for days.
“My wife and I pray every moment, hoping for a miracle, praying that our son walks back through that door safe and sound,” he said, his voice breaking.
“Not knowing if he’s okay, not knowing where he is—it’s like a piece of us is missing.”
The Chand family has scoured familiar places, searched the homes of relatives and friends, but each day without news intensifies their anguish.
They are clinging to faith, holding on to hope that their son will return, despite growing uncertainty.
Arvin was last seen wearing a blue dotted shirt, black jeans, and black safety boots. He lives with his parents on Farm Road, 10 Miles, Nausori.
A missing person’s report was filed at the Police Station in Nakasi, and the Fiji Police Force has assured that efforts to locate him continue. In an emotional plea, Mr Chand urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Please, if anyone knows anything, help us find our son,” he said. is review.”
