Graduating with this caregiving certificate will mark another milestone for me.

After eight years in teaching, Ashita Ashwini Devi plans to try something new for her life.
The Nadi Sangam Primary School teacher was one of the 10 students at the Caregivers Training Institute CTI, Nadi, who graduated with the National Certificate in Aged Care and Community Care (Level 3) course at the Fiji National University Namaka Campus in Nadi.
The ambitious mother of one said classroom teaching would not limit her from striving for something new.

“Graduating with this caregiving certificate will mark another milestone for me.
I wanted something new for my life,” she said.
“I love to help people.
I believe I have helped children in the classroom, but I want to reach out more to people in the community, especially the sick and the elderly.”
“Doing my practical for this course was an opportunity for me to go out into the community and help people who needed help.”
She is trying to manage her time teaching in school, her role at home and studying at CTI.
“But I am thankful to my family, my tutors in school and friends for the support.”
The 44-year-old said the caregiving course would provide an overseas job for her which was her purpose for studying at CTI.
During the graduation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was launched between CTI and Absolute Medical Response, AMR in terms of providing employment to the successful graduates’ Australian placements subject to graduates successfully completing interviews, care assessments and evaluations with AMR.
This will enhance the future of the graduates of CTI.
