Teachers Roneel Prakash and Ranjiline sealed their love in a wedding ceremony at the Lautoka Vishnu Temple on Saturday. It was followed by a reception at the Lautoka Golf Club attended by their work colleagues, golf fraternity, friends and family.

The couple met in Lautoka during a workshop some five years ago. The two had been dating for over two years. Mr Prakash, who is also a professional golfer, confirmed, however, that the romance started earlier than a year ago, after  he posed the question about progressing their friendship to a relationship.

“We had been dating for years, but on the last Diwali day, I made  the move and she accepted it with a yes!”

Mr Prakash was born and bred in Lautoka while Mrs Prakash is from Ellington, Rakiraki.

Mr Prakash, is based at Delana Methodist Primary School while Mrs Prakash teaches at Jasper William Primary School.

“I did not think that there could be a guy that could convince me to leave my family. But he has,” Mrs Prakash said.

The couple thanked their family and friends, some of whom came from overseas to attend the wedding ceremony.

The pair will return to respective schools as Term Two resumes today.
