“I tell students that not everyone will become doctors, teachers, and nurses. Some of you will become housewives and you will depend on your husband to support the family. So, if something happens to your husband, like if he died, you will need somebody to support you and your kids,” he said.

More than 1000 students of Adi Cakobau School (ACS) in Sawani, Nausori, are part of the Technical Education and Skills Training (TEST) week.

The TEST week was launched at Swami Vivekanada College (SVC) in Nadi last Thursday by the Ministry of Education. It ends today.

TEST comprises three streams which include the agriculture department, home economics and the industrial arts department.

Agriculture Science Department teacher Peniasi Vosabalavu said the purpose of TEST week was to teach hands-on practical skills to students that will help them in the future.

“I tell students that not everyone will become doctors, teachers, and nurses. Some of you will become housewives and you will depend on your husband to support the family. So, if something happens to your husband, like if he died, you will need somebody to support you and your kids,” he said.
