Fascinated with the way young entrepreneurs have successfully managed their business, 20 -year-old Archana Chetty took on the challenge to venture on a hamper and bouquet gift business.

The Labasa based tertiary student made perfect use of her management skills to start up Hiddengem Gifts, which is easily accessible on Facebook.

Ms Chetty, who is currently pursuing a Certificate in Human Resource Management at the University of the South Pacific, said she began on her new entrepreneurial path on August 5 this year.

Through the financial support of her parents, Ms Chetty managed to purchase materials that were used to prepare the hamper packs and gifts.

“I thank my parents for having trust in my business idea, they had invested $1500 in the initial setup of my business,” Ms Chetty said.

Ms Chetty sold hampers and bouquets for all occasions.

“I also prepare customised hamper packs according to my customer’s preference such as photo frames, handmade cards and theme boxes,” she said.

Moreover, she stated that her sales from the business in the last two months were encouraging.

Apart from calls made, the business also catered for online orders via Ms Chetty’s Facebook business account ‘Hiddengem Gifts’.

Ms Chetty said preparing those creative hamper packs was the most satisfying part of her job as she was able to put a smile on her customer’s face.

She said the business also provided her with a source of income during a time when people were finding ways to cater for their family expenses.

“I believe in exploring the different opportunities that are available to me, as each day presented a new but inspiring challenge which I could learn from,” she added.
