No matter how fierce the battles, no matter the words spoken behind your back, no matter what has been said and what may be said in the future against you, the anointing will protect you. It will cover you.

With these powerful words of divine reassurance and affirmation, President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Semisi Turagavou, blessed the Tui Nayau, Ratu Tevita Kapaiwai Lutunauga Uluilakeba Mara during a moving dawn service at Narocivo Methodist Church yesterday.

The church service marked the sacred beginning of a historic day for the vanua o Nayau.

Reverend Turagavou’s message, delivered as the first light of morning crept over the island, was one of divine assurance, courage, and calling.

“Your crossing over is fully known by your God. You have been anointed today. You have been prayed over today. The season, the spirit, and the body have all been prepared by God. There is nothing unknown to Him. God is present everywhere — He is omnipotent, omnipresent. He is limitless.”

Reverend Turagavou reminded the newly installed chief that the moment was not just cultural, but divinely orchestrated.

“Trust in Him — the One who has anointed and consecrated you this very morning. He governs the seas, the mountains, and all creation. Turn to Him completely.”

The early morning service marked the spiritual beginning of Ratu Tevita’s installation as Tui Nayau—a title once held by his late father, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, Fiji’s founding Prime Minister and thenPresident.

“What has taken place this morning has been fulfilled before the One who knows all things. Today, the holy anointing for your chiefly role as Tui Nayau has been given. Stand firm. Be courageous,” Rev Turagavou reaffirmed the newly installed Chief.

The reverend’s words echoed with timeless authority—anchoring the day’s ceremonies not only in tradition, but in faith and divine mandate.
