The crown does not define value: Newly crowned Bula Queen

Newly crowned Miss Bula 2026 Fifita Bauleka says a pageant crown does not determine a person's worth, but gives the winner a platform to speak for those who have no voice.

Representing Nadi Town Council at this year's Bula festival, Ms Bauleka delivered the message after winning the Miss Bula title and three special awards — Miss Charity, Miss Talent and Miss Internet — during Saturday night's crowning ceremony at King Charles Park.

She will now represent the Nadi community at the Miss Fiji Pageant.

"We thank God for His grace, His love and the opportunity He has given to all of us here," she said.

"The crown does not diminish your value compared with mine. It is simply an opportunity to amplify my voice on behalf of everyone, especially those who are voiceless.

"Thank you to all the supporters. Never limit yourself, never give up and always put God first."

Ms Bauleka thanked the festival's main sponsor, Fiji Airports, chief executive Mesake Nawari and his team for supporting the event.

She also acknowledged the Nadi Town Council, the Bula Committee and all sponsors for making the festival possible.

"The week-long event celebrated beauty, talent, confidence, community service and the incredible journey of all the contestants," she said.

Fiji Airports chief executive Mesake Nawari said the company's sponsorship was the result of five years of planning.

He said Fiji Airports should have supported one of the country's longest-running community festivals.
