Walking from Daria to Cogea village meant crossing a broken bridge for Daria circuit members.
Stories of resilience and pure generosity have emerged after category five TC Yasa left behind a trail of destruction in most parts of the Northern Division.
In the district of Wainunu in the Bua Province, the devastation by TC Yasa is evident in the seven villages: Daria, Nakorotiki, Nakawakawa, Cogea, Navakasali, Nadua and Saolo.
Cogea village was perhaps the worst hit. Out of 37 houses in the village, many were completely destroyed. The river nearby had burst its banks and as a result many of the homes were washed away.
