Three new projects for RFMF engineers

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers have been given three new projects for this year.

RFMF Engineers operations of­ficer Major Sanaila Vitukalulu said they had been offered to con­struct five new teachers’ quar­ters at Namalata District School in Tailevu at a cost of $500,000.00, six teachers quarters at the Tai­levu North College at a cost of $600,000.00 and repair work at a laboratory at Ratu Kadavulevu School.

“We’re still working on the cost of the repair work at Ratu Kada­vulevu School,” he said.

He said they also worked on two community projects -repair works at Mahaffy Girl’s Home, Suva, and repair works at Draiba Primary School, Suva.

The gate at the Home was dam­aged during Cyclone Winston and they had just repaired it. He said they were looking for other mate­rials for the Home.

On Draiba Primary School he said, the school committee had supplied the materials, and they were doing the work.

  • Rotuma Hospital Phase 2 - $5.9m
  • Duke of Edinburgh Barracks – Construction of chapel
  • Blackrock, Nadi Construction of Mess hall
  • Vunisea, Kadavu- Construction of Sports Ground embankment, Ministry of Youth $254,020.00
  • Sukanaivalu Barracks Labasa - Extension to Operations Block
  • Sawaieke Village, Gau - Con­struction of Playground Ministry of Youth $574,474.47
  • Tropical Cyclone Thomas Hous­ing Rehabilitation Programme MRD $2.7m- 2012 28 Houses Rabi, 30 Cakaudrove
  • Kanakana Village - Construc­tion of Evacuation Centre - Self Funded
  • Nativi Village, Ra - Construction of 17 Houses - Self Funded
  • Ratu Luke Primary School, Wai­nunu, Bua $127,107.87.

18 Renovations - 1 x 5 classroom, Staff room, Woodwork shop.
