The Melbourne, Australia- based  Planetshakers Band will hold its Believe National Nights of celebration at the Churchill Park carnival grounds, Lautoka from June 3-5.

The event is free of charge and will take place each day from 6pm

This will also be the Planetshakers second event in Fiji.

The last event was held in 2019.

Planetshakers international director Neil Smith said there would not be any other concerts in Fiji this year other than the Believe National Nights of Celebration in Lautoka.

However, there was the possibility of doing more events in the future to uplift and bring inspiration to communities.

“The pandemic was, of course, a time of great hardship and challenges around the globe,” he said.

“We believe this event will play a part in restoring hope and reviving the belief that the people of this great nation can move forward and have a significant part to play in the future of this region.”

He said more than 80 people had flown into Nadi yesterday and would be running programmes in the Western Division focusing on Lautoka and Nadi.

“The week leading up to the three Believe National Nights of Celebration will involve initiatives across many schools, markets, churches, and hospitals as our teams bring hope and encouragement to people of all ages and backgrounds,” he said.

“All are invited to the night celebrations at Churchill Park this weekend. These nights will include family-friendly activities, singing, dancing and messages designed to lift people’s spirits as we focus on building this great nation together.”

He said he believed this was a unique moment for Fiji to not look back but focus on its God-given future.

“Some of our band have already arrived in Fiji and others will fly in closer to the event. Our band will be ready to celebrate at Churchill Park on Friday night,” he said.
