Fijians could soon get visa free entry to Australia and New Zealand.
Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad, while speaking at the 11th Pacific Update Conference held at the University of the South Pacific, expressed the need for Australia and New Zealand to be integral parts of the Pacific story.
"The time for that has now arrived," Mr Prasad said.

He stressed that visa-free travel between the Pacific Island countries and Australia and New Zealand should be the starting point towards establishing a unified Pacific-wide single market.
“There is no salami slice part of the Pacific family.
“A unified Pacific wide single market must include Australia and New Zealand and a starting point for that must be visa free travel between Australia and New Zealand and Pacific Island states.”
Mr Prasad further emphasised the importance of enabling Fijian and Pacific businesses to thrive in the Australian and New Zealand markets, while also facilitating the expansion of Australian and New Zealand businesses throughout the Pacific.
