TISI Sangam Condemns Temple Burglary

The then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam Fiji has condemned the recent burglary at a temple at Malolo, Nadi, yesterday morning.
National President Sadasiwan Naicker said the burglary and subsequent damage to the temple was a sad event for the organisation.
“TISI Sangam strongly condemns this act. This includes the recent case in Navua as well,” he said.

Temple president Karna Raju said this was the first time for the temple to be burgled.
Mr Raju alerted Police after the temple pujari (priest) took a look around the property at 6.30am.
“This is a sad day for us to see thieves ransack and steal items. This has never happened before.
“Eight rooms were broken into, including the office and the rooms belonging to the women’s wing.
He said damage was estimated at $3800.
“Items stolen include nine chains worth $600, two sarees worth $180 and donation box, which can collect between $400 and $500 a month and a brush cutter worth $800,” Mr Raju said.
Police confirmed that an investigation was underway.
