Toddlers’ Death Shatters Mother’s Day Party
A family’s Mother’s Day celebration plans were shattered on Wednesday after a toddler, Romane Turaganiwai, was found dead in a wheelbarrow at Saivou Village in Macuata.

A family’s Mother’s Day celebration plans were shattered on Wednesday after a toddler, Romane Turaganiwai, was found dead in a wheelbarrow at Saivou Village in Macuata.
Mayaca Dorotea is trying to come to terms with the loss of her two-year-old grandson.
She was weaving a mat for a funeral when Romane was found motionless inside the wheelbarrow.

“It was a normal Wednesday afternoon for us having Romane playing around the house and visiting his friends in the neighbourhood,” Mrs Dorotea said.
“Around 5:30pm my sister-in-law found him motionless inside the wheelbarrow under our house.”
The 44-year-old mother of three said she alerted her daughter, who was playing volleyball, to rush the son to the Seaqaqa Health Centre.
