Top UN human rights Pacific rep meets Minister Seruiratu
Mr Seruiratu welcomed Ms Massey at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Suva and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthen collaboration with OHCHR in advancing Fiji’s human rights development initiatives and programmes here.

The Minister for Defence, National Security and Foreign Affairs, Inia Seruiratu, received a courtesy call recently from the Regional Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the Pacific, Chitralekha Massey.
Mr Seruiratu welcomed Ms Massey at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Suva and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthen collaboration with OHCHR in advancing Fiji’s human rights development initiatives and programmes here.
Ms Massey also congratulated Mr Seruiratu for his appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs. She also acknowledged the country’s continued engagement, both regionally and internationally, to enhance human rights advocacy.

She also commended Fiji for its recognition and representation as the member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to advance human rights protection.
As such the OHCHR has pledged greater support for our historic journey and commitment as member of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
