Treaty Submission To Be Reviewed By Standing Committee

The treaty on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and members of their families will be reviewed.
This will be undertaken by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence for review.
Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communications, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday tabled the motion in Parliament for the treaties to be moved for analysis.

The second treaty to be taken for consideration by the Standing Committee is the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.
Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau confirmed that the treaties have been submitted and received by him.
“I confirm that the Attorney-General has provided me with copies of the treaty and written analysis as required by the Standing Order,” he said
The committee will table a report to Parliament no later than 30 days of the announcement of submission.
