Trial date set for man accused of killing partner
State alleges victim died from injuries sustained during a domestic argument.

A trial date has been set for a man accused of killing his de facto partner in 2024.
Murder accused Anare Vuli Cilicewa will stand trial on April 1 at the High Court in Suva.
The State alleges that the deceased, Shabreen Ali, was assaulted during an argument, sustaining injuries that later led to her death at Raiwaqa in Suva.

Cilicewa appeared before Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu this morning, where the court heard that both the prosecution and defence are ready to proceed when the trial begins.
State prosecutor Hezekiah Nofaga told the court that they met with the defence last Monday to confirm the number of prosecution witnesses for trial.
The final list is expected by Friday following ongoing discussions between the two sides.
The accused has been further remanded.
