Fiji was represented for the first time in the Tsinghua University Global Village in Beijing China on Saturday, May 13.
Currently there are only two Fijians students, Maria Vula and Brandon Kwan are studying at Tsinghua University
Ms Vula is a graduate student majoring in Masters in Journalism and Communication while Mr Kwan is an undergraduate student majoring in Energy and Power Engineering.

At the Fiji booth, the students displayed Fijian traditional artifacts, FIJI Water and Fijian branded merchandises.
The two students also prepared two Fijian delicious food; Kokoda and cassava cake.
“The international cultural expo allowed teachers and students to travel through a series of unique exhibition booths arranged by students from different countries, watch live performances, and taste local foods, embarking on an interactive journey rich with cultural exploration.
“It was culturally enriching and we learned a lot about the different cultures,” the students said.
“We would also like to thank our major sponsors FIJI Water and Dr Yolinda Chan the Consul General & Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji in Shanghai and Dean of the Shanghai Diplomatic Corps.”
The theme of this year's "Global Village" was Global Reunion.
“As students from all over the world are returning to Tsinghua after the pandemic and reuniting with campus life, international tourism and cultural exchanges between countries are also being rebuilt.”
More than 2000 people attended the international expo.
Global Village aims to be a leading part of this process, where different countries work together to face global challenges, seek common goals, and build a new community for a shared future.
The 11th International Cultural Festival, run by the International Students & Scholars Center（ISSC）, is one of Tsinghua’s biggest and best events celebrating international culture on campus.
This year, the festival had five sub-events: Global Village 2023-World Expo in Tsinghua, Verse & Vibes: Starry Music Night, TEDxTHU 2023, Zijing's Charm: Night Out, and Nike Basketball Weekend.
The Festival was organized by Tsinghua University Association of Student International Communication (ASIC), the Tsinghua University Students' Association of International Culture Exchange (AICE), the Student Union of Tsinghua University, and the Graduates Union of Tsinghua University, along with Tsinghua University country and regional associations.
