Tui Nadi Resigns as PAP President
Ratu Vuniyani, 70, said there were two major reasons why he resigned from the position.

The Tui Nadi, Ratu Vuniyani Navuniuci has resigned as the People’s Alliance party president.
He confirmed this yesterday saying he submitted his resignation during the PAP’s executive council meeting last week.
Ratu Vuniyani, 70, said there were two major reasons why he resigned from the position.

“First, I have achieved what I had committed to in the formation of the party,” he said.
“That was to defeat and bringing down the FijiFirst party which was a successful move. This was one of the major achievements of being in this leadership.
“I wanted to take care of my health and my life which are important. I don’t want to take both the pressure of these two leaderships of being president and chief-ly role of Nadi. I chose to focus on one which is the role of the Tui Nadi. This is the right time to pass this baton to someone else to continue. There were rumours that I disagreed with some procedures. It was all misinformation.”
He thanked the party, its members and those who support him.
He said vice-president, Ratu Josefa Dimuri is currently the acting president.
