Tutorial Classes for RFMF children’s Learning

Children of Republic of Fiji Military Force (RFMF) officers began their tutorial classes last Saturday, officially opened by Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai at St Agnes Primary School in Suva.
Salote Tavainavesi, president of the RFMF Wives and Mothers Club, said the initiative, which was paused during COVID-19, was revived to boost their children’s education.
Currently, 70 students are enrolled, including those from the Western division.

The programme, targeting Year 5, 7, and 8 students, focuses on improving numeracy and literacy skills.
It will run for four Saturdays, followed by a similar programme for Year 12 and 13 students for six consecutive Saturdays.
While the tutorial classes, with a $20 registration fee, are primarily for RFMF children, exceptions were made for a group of youths at the school and for Territorial Force Brigade members and adopted children.

Major-General Ro Jone emphasized the importance of such programs in securing a better future for the children, stating that enhanced education opportunities can significantly improve their prospects.
