Two charged over alleged murder of Police Constable Racagi

Two men will appear at the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow (March 5, 2026) charged over the alleged murder of Police Constable 8012 Peniasi Racagi.

Constable Racagi's body was discovered near the beach be­hind the Lami Oceania Wesley Church in the early hours of Sunday, February 22.

Police said the men, aged 42 and 20, both of Qauia, Lami, were formally charged with murder following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is alleged the two men, along with another individual, between February 21 and 22, 2026, aided and abetted in causing injuries to Constable Racagi, resulting in his death.

The accused are in police custody.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu confirmed the charges.
