Two Chiefs In Coral Coast Give Green Light For Blue West Villas

Two chiefs in the province of Nadroga-Navosa have given their full support for Blue West Villas to operate as a COVID-19 quarantine facility.

Tui Davutukia Ratu Emosi Buruvatu and Tui Vusu Ratu Siriako Naciwai and village representatives yesterday inspected the estate with Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel and Ministry of Health and Medical Services officials.

Ratu Emosi said there should not be any fear.

“We are pleased with how Blue West Villas will operate as a quarantine facility, adding that during this time the Ministry of Health and Medical Services needs assistance with the primary contacts only,” he said.

“I know some people are not one with this but I have been assured that there will be doctors and soldiers to look after the place which will keep the province safe so villagers should have faith,” he said.

He said there has been a lot of misinformation on the quarantine facilities being fed to villagers along the Coral Coast over the past few days and slammed them.

Ratu Siriako, who shared similar sentiments, said: “We are all in this fight together. The authorities need our support for recovery.

He said a team from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, RFMF personnel and representatives from the District Office have been going out to villages, to clarify their concerns.

Blue West Villas owner Craig Delamare said, their consultation with the chiefs were successful.

“Having this consultation is the best thing we could have done,” he said.

“I am glad that I have been able to show the two chiefs and villagers how the facility will operate once the primary contacts come in.

“They have also given their approval and acceptance.”
