Two Directors Resign from Civil Service

Two directors have resigned from their respective Government ministries this month.
Director of Fisheries, Neomai Ravitu and Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport director Faranisese Kinivuwai, 42, have tended their resignations.
Permanent secretary, Atelaite Rokosuka said Ms Ravitu was now serving her 30-day notice before she officially resigns.

She could not divulge reasons for her resignation. It is believed that Ms Ravitu will join the private sector.
Ms Ravitu joined the Ministry in 1999 after graduating from USP.

Ms Kinivuwai was farewelled by her colleagues at their Walu Bay office last Friday.
She will be joining the Pacific Community (SPC).
A lawyer by profession, she held the director position since 2021.
After completing her tertiary education in law studies in 2005 at the Emalus Campus in Vanuatu, she pursued her Post Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) at USP, Laucala Campus.
Ms Kinivuwai worked at the Land Transport Authority for 10 years as their legal officer and in 2009 became manager legal.
In 2015, she joined the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
She was among the five people chosen to pursue their masters’ degree in international Maritime Law at the IML Institute in Malta, Europe in 2018.
