While more than 800 nurses resigned last year, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services has only been able to recruit 206 nurses in November last year.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Atonio Lalabalavu made the revelation in response to a written question by Opposition MP Penioni Ravunawa in parliament on Thursday.

Mr Ravunawa had asked the minister to inform parliament on how many doctors, nurses, oral health and allied health care professionals the government had recruited.
