Four people, including two juveniles, were arrested during a snap Police checkpoint on the Hibiscus Highway in Naweni yesterday for alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe said the substances seized were believed to be marijuana.
ACP Vusonilawe said the arrests were made on August 12 as part of ongoing operations in the Northern Division targeting the cultivation and unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

He said snap checkpoints had also resulted in arrests for other alleged offences, including criminal intimidation and assault.
Police operations in the division also include visits to communities and schools as part of efforts to tackle the illicit drug trade.
Investigations into the alleged unlawful possession cases are continuing.
