Two men in custody for allegedly intimidating bus driver

The two men who allegedly intimidated a bus attendant at the Nadi Bus Station yesterday is in Police custody.

A video of the two men was shared widely on Facebook.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the two individuals were arrested yesterday morning for causing nuisance in a public place.

“These individuals often disrupt the journey by causing disturbances, including troubling or harassing bus drivers and passengers,” said ACP Driu.

He said the behaviour not only jeopardised the safety of drivers and passengers, but also created an uncomfortable and stressful environment for everyone involved.

“If PSV drivers face the same issue, do stop at your nearby Police station, Community Police Post, and checkpoints along the road to report such matter.”

ACP Driu said members of the public should continue to be on the lookout for each other in order to have an incident-free Christmas.
