Udu School Scores 92% Pass Rate For Y12

Duavata Secondary School students defied all odds to improve their 2021 Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination record.
The school scored 92 per cent pass rate compared to 80 per cent in 2020.
The highest mark for the school was 285/400.

The rural school is located at Udu Point, Macuata in Vanua Levu.
Proud school principal, Ajesh Prasad said students managed with the hard copies of learning materials supplied to then.
Mr Prasad said the result was an indication of students’ determination to succeed in their studies despite numerous challenges.
“I used my own transport to deliver resources to students living along Udu, while my vice principal travelled by boat to get all resources delivered in non-accessible road areas.”
Students from Udu, Vunikodi, Tawake, Nukusa and Nukudamu were enrolled in the school from Years Nine to 13.
The school recorded 100 per cent pass rate for Year 13 in the past four years. Mr Prasad thanked parents for their continuous support.
