Unknown Man Rescues Woman, 64, From Fire
All she remembers is that when no one dared to save her from the fire there was a brave soul who put aside his own safety to save her.

A 64-year-old woman of Navakai Settlement, Nadi will be forever grateful to an unknown man who rescued her as fire engulfed her house on Wednesday night.
Nur Bano said she owed her life to the man who risked his own life to bring her to safety.
“If there had been some delay I would be dead,” she said.

“I was alone in my house when the incident happened. I have a knee problem and sickly too so it would have been hard for me to come down.
“I was sort of dragged out by my saviour. As we stood on the wooden steps it was burning. When we reached the ground the house ceiling fell in. Imagine if he was not there I would have perished.”

According to Ms Bano she could not recognise the man who rescued her.
All she remembers is that when no one dared to save her from the fire there was a brave soul who put aside his own safety to save her.
“I also have weak eyesight. But now thanks to that gentleman I’m glad to be alive,” she said.
“When all were frightened he was there to rescue me.”
The incident left 11 people homeless.
She estimated the loss to be around $80,000.
The National Fire Authority officers said the fire started at 7pm.
The fire is alleged to have started from one flat in the three-flat house built on stilts.
